Oboe Performance
Josiah van Dyck is an active oboist and English Horn player freelancing as a soloist, chamber music artist, and orchestral musician. He has performed with the Erie Philharmonic (PA), Bellingham Festival of Music (WA), Cleveland Opera, Warren Philharmonic, Trinity Cathedral Chamber Orchestra (Cleveland, OH), and as a guest performer (and later, participant) with the Kent/Blossom Music Festival. Josiah was also a member of the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra (MI) as Principal Oboe from 2020-2022.
Josiah completed his Bachelor of Music as a scholarship student at Kent State University with teacher Danna Sundet and his Master of Music at Rutgers University with Andrew Adelson. After graduate school, he received a diploma in Band Instrument Repair from Minnesota State College Southeast in Red Wing, MN.
Currently, Josiah works as a woodwind repair technician at Woodsy's Music in Kent, OH. He and his wife enjoy hiking and playing with their cocker spaniel, Scout.
