Josiah van Dyck specializes in woodwind repair, including oboes, flutes, saxophones, clarinets, and bassoons. He works with musicians from major orchestras, including The Cleveland Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, The Nashville Symphony, and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. He offers a variety of services ranging from basic adjustments and repads to crack repair and gouging machine repair.

Josiah completed his Bachelor of Music as a scholarship student at Kent State University with teacher Danna Sundet and his Master of Music at Rutgers University with Andrew Adelson. After graduate school, he received a diploma in Band Instrument Repair from Minnesota State College Southeast in Red Wing, MN.

​

In 2026, Josiah trained at the Lorée factory in Paris and became certified by the company to maintain and repair their instruments.

 

Josiah lives in Northeast Ohio, repairing woodwind instruments and freelance gigging.  He and his wife enjoy kayaking and playing with their cocker spaniel, Scout.
